Annual Fundraising Campaign
In October, November & December of every year, the Stittsville Lions Club conducts its Annual Fund Raising Campaign to help the less fortunate. The money raised from this event will be used to support very worthy organizations and individuals in our community throughout the year. For every $125 or more donated, a personalized sign will be erected on this sign located at the park on the corner of
Abbot and Stittsville Main Streets.
Thank you to all our sponsors.
Any member of the Stittsville Lions Club will accept donations throughout the months of October, November and December. To make a donation please give generously to the Lions member contacting you or telephone 613-836-4964 and leave a message and a Lions member will contact you.
We hope you will support this event by making a donation to the Stittsville Lions Annual Fund Raising Campaign. Your donation will go a long way towards making a difference in our community. Case for Cure November is Diabetes Month
Lions Joining Forces to Fight Diabetes… Lions Raising Diabetes Awareness, Preserving Sight
Lions work with local community partners and national diabetes associations to promote diabetes education and awareness throughout the year.
The World Health Organization estimates that over 422 million people worldwide have diabetes, a growing world epidemic that is expected to affect over 642 million by 2040.
Diabetes is the leading cause of new-onset blindness in many countries. All people with diabetes – both Type 1 and Type 2 – are at risk. That’s why everyone with diabetes should get a comprehensive dilated eye exam at least once a year.
Diabetes can lead to other possible complications, including heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, leg amputation, and nerve damage. In pregnancy, poorly controlled diabetes increases the risk of fetal death and other complications.
